Day Students

Cardiff Sixth Form College also welcomes day students from the local area who come to Cardiff for its excellent teaching, extension work, UCAS guidance and careers support.

Our day students are all aiming for places at top universities and are looking to work in an ambitious environment where they can develop academically, develop skills and work alongside other top students from around the globe.

Day students also enjoy the many super curricular activities on offer and take part in work placement programmes both in the UK and internationally, volunteer, attend lectures from outside speakers, lead careers societies, attend enrichment trips and participate in competitions.

They are given extensive university preparation including timetabled preparation for admissions tests, mock interview practise, subject specific talks and one to one tailored advice as well as specialised programmes for Oxbridge and Medicine and related degrees.

Many of our day students also take leading roles in drama productions, start music societies, lead debating competitions or take part in sports teams as well as getting fully involved in social events and house activities.

Although they do not live at the College, day students are entitled to breakfast, lunch and dinner at the College canteen at no extra cost.  Meal times are a great way to bond and we encourage all day students to take advantage of this service. The College has been likened to a mini United Nations where students can openly mix and learn from each other whatever their background.  Our local students appreciate making friends with students from other cultures and our international students enjoy the company of British students who teach them about the country in which they have come to live.
