UCAS Programme

If you need some help and inspiration in putting together your personal statement, are looking for advice about what to prepare for university admissions interviews and want to know what you have to revise for university entrance exams then the UCAS Summer Programme run by Cardiff Sixth Form College could be just what you need.

The eight-day course is designed to give you a head start away from the academic year and the opportunity to concentrate entirely on the UCAS application process to ensure that you have all the information you require to make the best submission possible.
The line-up of tutors on the course is impressive and includes the College’s experienced Careers team, Head of House team at Cardiff Sixth Form College and speakers from Dukes Oxbridge and Medical Applications all of whom run one-to-one tutorials and lead group supervisions.
Cardiff Sixth Form College also invites their alumni and other undergraduates back from top UK universities who, along with trained careers advisors, will give advice on how to write your personal statement, up to date information on interview technique as well as an insight into current university life. Each student will be matched with a corresponding tutor, for example potential medics will be paired with a tutor studying Medicine and at the particular university a student is potentially looking to enter. Past tutors have come from top universities including:
  • Cambridge
  • Oxford
  • UCL
  • Exeter
  • Imperial
  • Bath
  • LSE
  • Warwick
The course is useful not only for those applying to UK universities but also for those interested in the US or other worldwide institutions and there will be specific sessions run for particular country applications.
