Every student at Cardiff Sixth Form College attends weekly critical thinking classes held by the English Department.
Here students analyse facts to form judgements, explore questions from different perspectives, examine beliefs, assumptions and opinion against facts and learn to understand logic and logical argument.
They are encouraged to be directional, disciplined and corrective in their thinking and to aim for standards of excellence. Critical thinking entails effective communication and problem-solving abilities and challenges students to think outside themselves and inherent societal beliefs.
