Summer 2026 Newsletter

As we bring another remarkable academic year to a close, the Summer Term has been filled with memorable celebrations, achievements and unforgettable experiences. This term has been especially significant as it marks the final chapter before we open the doors to our exciting new Cardiff Bay campus this September, beginning a new era in the history of Cardiff Sixth Form College. Throughout the term, our students celebrated the diversity of our community at the Cultural Event, recognised the achievements of the Class of 2026 at the Graduation Ceremony, showcased their creativity at the annual Art Exhibition, and rounded off the year in style at the Leavers’ Ball. As the academic year drew to a close, many students also embarked on our International Citizenship Experience (ICE) expeditions to Tanzania and Sri Lanka, gaining invaluable cultural, medical and engineering experiences while making a positive impact in local communities. As we reflect on these special moments, we look forward with great excitement to welcoming students to our outstanding new school in Cardiff Bay.

Cardiff Bay Campus

Excitement continues to build ahead of the opening of our outstanding new Cardiff Bay campus in September 2026. Situated in the heart of Cardiff Bay, the development brings together the beautifully restored historic Merchant and Corry buildings with a striking new 17-storey boarding house, creating an exceptional environment for learning and student life. As the project enters its final stages, the finishing touches are being completed throughout the campus, with state-of-the-art teaching facilities, modern social spaces and premium boarding accommodation all ready to welcome students for the new academic year. This landmark development represents an exciting new chapter for Cardiff Sixth Form College and reflects our continued commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience in world-class surroundings.

The Cultural Event

The Summer Term began with one of the most anticipated events in the college calendar – our annual Cultural Event. Celebrating the rich diversity of the Cardiff Sixth Form College community, the evening brought together students, staff and guests for an outstanding programme of performances, showcasing the remarkable talents of our international student body through music, dance and drama, alongside a surprise performance from members of staff. The event also incorporated the annual Prize Giving Ceremony, recognising students for their exceptional academic achievements throughout the year, before culminating in the presentation of the Inter-House Cup. Congratulations to Wallace House, who were crowned this year’s Inter-House Champions following another year of enthusiastic participation and success across a wide range of academic, sporting and cultural competitions.

Graduation Ceremony 2026

The Class of 2026 recently celebrated their Graduation from Cardiff Sixth Form College. This exceptional year group has demonstrated dedication, resilience and determination throughout their time at the College, culminating in a memorable Graduation Ceremony shared with family, friends and staff.
Senior students Anika and Sage delivered an inspiring address on behalf of the graduating class, reflecting on the experiences, friendships and achievements that have defined their journey at CSFC.

Principal Tom Arrand then addressed the graduates, sharing his reflections on the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, before presenting each student with their graduation certificate. He also thanked the many Parents and family members who had traveled from far and wide to attend this year’s ceremony.
The Heads of Houses then presented the students with their Dragon Pins, marking their place as Cardiff Sixth Form College alumni and celebrating their lasting connection to the College community.
It was a wonderful occasion and a fitting tribute to a remarkable cohort as they prepare to embark on the next chapter of their lives.

Summer Art Exhibition

One of the final highlights of the Cardiff Sixth Form College academic year is our annual Student Art Exhibition, held each June to celebrate the creativity, talent and dedication of our young artists.
The much-anticipated exhibition showcases an impressive collection of work produced by A Level and IGCSE Art students throughout the year.
As always, the standard of work on display was exceptional. From detailed observational studies and expressive paintings to innovative mixed-media projects and highly personal investigations, the exhibition demonstrated the remarkable skill, imagination and commitment of our students.

Graduation Ball

Our Class of 2026 came together for one final evening at the annual Graduation Ball, marking the end of the academic year after months of hard work and dedication. Dressed to impress, students enjoyed a wonderful night of celebrations with friends before heading home to begin the next exciting chapter of their lives.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 – we are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and wish you every success for the future.
