Success for students with ISA Essay Competition 2018

Congratulations to two of our amazing students Nicole and Donald who have both been awarded a Highly Commended prize for their Independent Schools Association (ISA) Essay Competition 2018 entries.

Nicole’s essay got Highly Commended in the Science, IT and Technology Section. Her essay title is: ‘Is Faecal Microbiota Transplant an Effective Treatment for Clostridium Difficile?’ Her evaluative, comparative analysis of different scientific approaches to ‘Clostridium Difficile’ has been particularly thoughtful and well researched, and she is very deserving of this result!

Donald Ma’s essay got Highly Commended in the Arts and Humanities section. He wrote the following essay: ‘To what extent are the laws regarding euthanasia fit for purpose in the UK in the 21st century?’ Donald has demonstrated a perceptive understanding of complex legal issues surrounding euthanasia. He was able to analyse the effectiveness of the law and investigated the legal reasoning which continues to classify euthanasia as unlawful. An excellent result for Donald who has ambitions to become a barrister; he has already started on the road to success.
