Teacher of Mathematics, Martin Gibbs
As an educator with 23 years of experience, I am deeply passionate about bringing Mathematics and Further Mathematics to life for my students. As an alumnus of Emmanuel College, Cambridge, where I read Mathematics, I went on to complete my PGCE in Secondary Mathematics at the University of Leicester.
A significant and incredibly rewarding part of my role is mentoring ambitious students as they apply for highly competitive university courses. I work closely with them to navigate complex entrance exams and prepare for rigorous academic interviews. I also love sharing the thrill of problem-solving by coaching students for national competitions, including the UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge, its Olympiad and Kangaroo follow-on rounds, and the Senior Team Maths Challenge.
I am a great believer in balancing analytical thinking with creative pursuits. Outside the classroom, my greatest passions are playing Brazilian and Cuban percussion, the intricate art of origami, and practicing circus skills.
