AUTUMN TERM AT CARDIFF SIXTH FORM COLLEGE

We are now over halfway through the autumn term at Cardiff Sixth Form College and can reflect on the start of another successful academic year and all the excitement and energy it brings. We were delighted to welcome our new and returning students for what will be our final autumn term at the Trinity Court campus before our relocation to the brand-new Cardiff Bay campus next September.

Highlights of the term so far have included our annual Sports Day, the busy October Open Day, and the many valuable experiences offered through Enrichment Week. Students have also enjoyed a variety of academic workshops, guest lectures, and university preparation activities, helping them to develop both their knowledge and wider skills. As we look ahead to the final weeks of term, there is still plenty to look forward to with a range of academic, cultural, and community events taking place across the college.

Cardiff Sixth Form College once again confirmed as Number One school for A Level results in the UK.

Following the release of the 2025 A Level results in August, Cardiff Sixth Form College has once again been ranked top of The Times league table for UK schools. This achievement continues our long-standing record of academic excellence and reinforces our reputation as one of the leading sixth form colleges in the country.

Our students achieved an exceptional 94.1% A*-A pass rate*, placing the College 7% ahead of the next highest school — a remarkable testament to their hard work, determination, and the exceptional support provided by our dedicated teaching staff.

These results reflect not only the academic ability of our students but also the college’s commitment to expert guidance, and a well-rounded educational experience. By combining academic excellence with a focus on personal growth and broader skills, Cardiff Sixth Form College ensures that every student is equipped to thrive at university and beyond.

We are incredibly proud of all our students and staff for their continued commitment to success and for upholding the values that make our college such an inspiring place to learn and achieve.

Sports Day 2025

September saw the CSFC Sports Day, the first major event of the new school year and the official launch of this year’s House Cup! It was a fantastic day filled with fun, fierce competition, and true house spirit. Our new students got their first taste of just how special the house system is here at CSFC.  Huge congratulations to Seacole House, crowned Sports Day Champions 2025, and well done to all competitors who gave their best in every event. A big thank you to our dedicated staff for their hard work in organising and supporting such a memorable day. Here’s to another exciting year of House Cup challenges ahead!

October Open Day

Cardiff Sixth Form College hosted its first Open Day of the year in October, inviting prospective students and their families to experience the college’s dynamic learning environment firsthand. The event began with a warm welcome from Principal Tom Arrand, who highlighted the unique advantages of studying at Cardiff Sixth Form College, from its rigorous academic standards and supportive staff to its extensive extracurricular opportunities that encourage students to grow beyond the classroom.

Following the principal’s introduction, attendees heard from deputy Head Student Maya, who shared her personal experiences and journey at the college. Maya spoke about the supportive academic culture, the strong friendships she had built, and the variety of opportunities available to students for both academic and personal development.
