Cardiff Sixth Form College have a new partnership with catering company www.holroydhowe.co.uk and together we are bringing a tastier, healthier flavour to the College.

The company brings a wealth of experience in delivering nutritious, delicious and creative food. As a strictly fresh food business, Holroyd Howe prides itself on sourcing the finest British and Welsh ingredients, as locally as possible and approaches food with a no fuss attitude. Nothing processed, nothing added – just honest, delicious food every day.

So far this summer we have already enjoyed a ‘Cardiff Mess’ dessert (a play on the Eton Mess), freshly prepared wraps, pineapple upside down cake, sub-style sandwiches, continental breakfasts and colourful salads that look like works of art!

Placing a strong emphasis on culinary training and the health and wellbeing of pupils and students, Holroyd Howe will be introducing a new menu designed to elevate nutritional standards across the board. Each day, the menu will include a choice of hot and cold main courses, a selection of hand held snack options, a salad bar with a choice of protein items, a hot dessert and a selection of cold desserts, including cut fresh fruit and homemade yoghurts.

“It’s a lot healthier. The best part is the salad bar. Some of the food is a lot better than last year and some things I preferred beforehand. I think it is an overall improvement,” said A2 student, Abdullahi.

A2 student Julia said, “I think the food is presented well and the salad bar is especially pretty! People will have to adjust and it may take some transitioning. Taste-wise I think the new menu is delicious”.
