Cardiff Bay

Cardiff Sixth Form College is embarking on an exciting new chapter with its relocation to Cardiff Bay in September 2026. Our new home will combine the character of historic buildings, thoughtfully upgraded, refurbished and extended to create a modern school, with the very latest in facilities to support academic excellence.
Directly opposite the iconic Millennium Centre, the new college will feature advanced science laboratories, a spacious dining hall and an inspiring auditorium, blending heritage with innovation at the heart of Cardiff’s vibrant waterfront.
Additionally, a striking 17-storey boarding centre is being purpose-built to provide students with exceptional accommodation and breathtaking views across Cardiff Bay. This brand-new boarding facility has been designed to complement the upgraded school building, ensuring students enjoy the very best environment in which to live and study.
This ambitious move reflects our commitment to delivering an outstanding education in a setting that matches the aspirations of our students. With the continued support of Dukes Education, the relocation marks a bold step forward in the College’s future, expanding opportunities for students from across the globe to thrive in one of the UK’s most dynamic locations.

The Cory’s Building

Cardiff Bay’s famous Cory’s Building was built in 1889 by the Cory Brothers, ship brokers and coal exporters operating in Cardiff since the 1840s. Built in the Free Italianate classical style, this beautiful building has an incredible history. Two storeys were added in the 1920s, as the pictures attached demonstrate. One hundred years later, Cardiff Sixth Form College is working with construction company BECT to repurpose this incredible landmark into a teaching block for our new campus, to be opened in September 2026. We are so proud to be a part of the history of Cory’s and the future of Cardiff Bay. We look forward to sharing updated images over the course of the next  months and to opening our new site in September of 2026.
