Cardiff Sixth Form College Cambridge reports strong early UCAS outcomes following equal consideration deadline

Cambridge, UK — Cardiff Sixth Form College Cambridge has reported strong early university application outcomes for its current cohort, following the recent UCAS equal consideration deadline.
Unlike most schools, all students at Cardiff Sixth Form College Cambridge submit their UCAS applications by the early October deadline rather than January. This structured approach allows students additional time for careful preparation and enables earlier engagement from universities.

As of the end of January, just weeks after the equal consideration deadline:

  • 88% of students are already holding at least one Russell Group university offer
  • Students are currently holding an average of two Russell Group offers each
  • 73% of students have received decisions from at least three of their five university choices
  • 29% have already heard back from four universities
  • 27% of students are already holding an offer from a G5 university, with the majority of G5 decisions still pending

Offers already received include highly competitive courses at leading institutions such as the University of Oxford, Imperial College London, and University College London, across disciplines including Mathematics, Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Neuroscience, and Chemical Engineering.

Universities have until mid-May to respond to applications submitted by the equal consideration deadline, and the College expects these outcomes to continue to strengthen over the coming months.

University preparation at Cardiff Sixth Form College Cambridge is led by its Careers and Higher Education team, including Dominic Fuge, Head of Careers and Higher Education, author of The Essential Guide to the UCAS Personal Statement. Students receive bespoke guidance throughout every stage of the application process, from course selection to personal statement development.

“These early results reflect the value of preparation, structure, and individual support. Submitting early allows students to apply with confidence and clarity, while giving universities time to engage meaningfully with each application.” – Dominic Fuge, Head of Careers and Higher Education

Cardiff Sixth Form College Cambridge supports ambitious students from around the world as they prepare for progression to the UK’s most competitive universities and beyond.
