October 2025 Enrichment Week

During the recent Enrichment Week, our Year 12 students had the incredible opportunity to explore a range of career paths through hands-on workshops, insightful tours, and interactive experiences. From clinical skills and law insight days to engineering workshops, work observation at a local care home, and a fascinating visit to Jodrell Bank Observatory, students engaged with professionals across diverse industries. These activities offered valuable glimpses into potential future careers, allowing students to develop practical skills and deepen their understanding of fields such as medicine, astrophysics, and law. A huge thank you to all the organizations and teams who supported our students throughout this inspiring week!
 
Work Observation at Cartrefi Porthceri Care Home 
As part of Enrichment Week, Fred and Kaden spent time at Cartrefi Porthceri Care Home, gaining valuable experience in a healthcare setting. They assisted staff with daily tasks and took the time to interact with residents, learning first-hand about the importance of compassion, communication, and teamwork in providing quality care. The experience offered meaningful insight into careers within the health and social care sector.

Jodrell Bank trip
As part of Enrichment Week, students had the exciting opportunity to take part in a hands-on physics workshop and visit the world-famous Jodrell Bank Lovell Telescope. The workshop allowed students to explore key concepts in astrophysics and experiment with practical demonstrations that brought complex theories to life. During the visit to Jodrell Bank, they learned about the cutting-edge research conducted at the observatory, including its role in radio astronomy and space exploration.


Womble Bond Dickinson Law Insight Day 
Our aspiring law students took part in a Law Insight Day hosted by leading firm Womble Bond Dickinson. During the visit, they met with legal trainees and professionals, gaining valuable insight into life within a top law firm and the pathways available to a career in law.


Doctors Academy Clinical Skills Day
As part of the Clinical Skills Day hosted by Doctors Academy, our Year 12 students gained hands-on experience in key medical procedures. They practised suturing, drawing blood, performing CPR, and debriding contaminated wounds — invaluable skills for those aspiring to study medicine and pursue careers in healthcare.
