Davis, an 18-year-old student from Cardiff has secured an offer to study Law at Merton College, Oxford University. Davis, who achieved an A* in Government and Politics and three As in Economics, English Literature and Psychology in her A levels today, is on the path to fulfilling her dream of attending one of the world’s most prestigious universities.
Davis, who moved to Cardiff two years ago from Canada to acclimate to the UK education system, has excelled in her studies, taking A-levels in English Literature, Government and Politics, Economics, and Psychology. Her dedication and hard work have earned her an open offer from Oxford University, bringing her one step closer to her ambition of becoming a judge.
An active participant in various extracurricular activities, Davis has demonstrated her versatility and leadership skills. She has taken part in numerous musical performances, notably playing Fiona in “Shrek” and Jasmine in “Aladdin.” As a seasoned debater, Davis competed in the Bath International Debate Competition, securing second place. She also participates in Model United Nations.
As the President of the Law Society, Davis organizes presentations on legal topics and quizzes for younger students. She has presented on criminal law and works with a committee of three to ensure the society runs smoothly. Additionally, Davis serves as a prefect, liaising between students and teachers, and has successfully organized the Graduation Ball.
Moving from Canada to Cardiff presented challenges, but Davis has embraced the opportunity to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. Living in Llandaff, she has found the environment at Cardiff conducive to forming close bonds and has appreciated the ambition of her peers who are all aiming for top universities in the future.
Davis aspires to pursue a career as a barrister in corporate law, with the long-term goal of becoming a judge. Her commitment to this path is evident through her shadowing experience with a Crown Court Judge last year and her upcoming internship with a Family Court Judge in Bristol over the summer.
