This year’s Duke’s Sustainability Event took place at the Royal Academy of Engineering in London on Friday 7 June. Designed to bring young prospective engineers from all schools of Duke’s Education, the Sustainability Event was delivered by staff and students of The Engineering Design Institute (TEDI) London, for the third year running.
Six year 12 students, Semi, Ruby, Marat, Amani, Ethan and Jackie took part in designing a wind turbine from sustainable materials. They engaged in design ideas and worked in separate teams, with other students from Duke’s Education schools, to compete for the highest output turbine, best engineering design, and most sustainable solution.
The visit to the esteemed Royal Academy of Engineering was thoroughly enjoyed and included a quick peek at the adjacent Buckingham Palace.
We now look forward to next year’s event.
