Cardiff Sixth Form College is delighted to have received a glowing report from Estyn, the Welsh schools inspectorate, following their full core inspection in November, 2023. Published this week, the report praises the outstanding students of CSFC, describing them as ‘exceptionally diligent’ with a ‘burning desire to succeed’. They note that their behaviour is ‘exemplary’ and that they have an ‘industrious work ethic’.

The College is commended for its ‘strong leadership’ and for providing ‘a high-quality holistic education, leading to academic success, in a supportive environment that develops rounded pupils ready for their next stage in learning’.

Teachers are also highly praised for their hard work within a culture of ‘ambition and high expectations’. They are described as ‘enthusiastic, highly effective advocates for their subjects [with] exceptional levels of subject knowledge’. Pastoral support is ‘highly effective’ and as a result, students are recognised as having ‘high levels of well-being and outstanding attitudes to learning’.

Our exceptional higher education support and ‘well-developed, extensive super-curricular programme’ receives notable praise and is described as a strength of the school.

Tom Arrand, Principal of Cardiff Sixth Form College said: ‘We are all so proud and delighted by this exceptional report which shines such a positive light on the outstanding efforts of everyone at Cardiff Sixth Form College. This is an excellent report which accurately describes a college with high expectations and a commitment to excellence. All of the staff and students at the college richly deserve the praise given by the inspectors and I thank Estyn for their professionalism and diligence in producing this wonderful report’.
