AS Students win EESW Competition

Students win at the EESW Competition

 

EESW Cymru run numerous activities across Wales, providing students with the opportunity to gain practical experience working with industries, businesses and higher education. These strands help benefit students and the aim is to further their knowledge and experience of practical STEM. These activities can enhance and gain essential key skills, as well as improving student’s employability skills. EESW aims to show industry just how talented the next wave of engineers and technicians are by bringing students and industry together for the benefit of all those involved and the future prosperity of the Welsh Economy.

For this year’s EESW Project 2021-22, students were tasked by Network Rail with solving the problems with water ingress and corrosion in the Severn Tunnels.

Cardiff Sixth Form College were nominated for three awards including the best written report, best application of technology and most effective presentation of the chosen solution. They were awarded “Most effective presentation of the chosen solution” for which they won £500. Congratulations Ahmed, Ho Ying, Andrew, Mariam, Stephen and Milly for your excellent application of knowledge and problem solving.
