Last week one of our multi-talented students Mudi travelled to Bournemouth in Dorset for the prestigeous United Kingdom Dance Championships. This competition is one of the three biggest and most influential in the world for international standard dance (divided into Latin and Ballroom dance), and this year there were over 400 pairs of dancers in the Amateur group.
The competition lasted from morning until midnight depending on how far you proceeded. The number of pairs was reduced consistently from 320 to 12 (Semi Final) and then to 6 (The Final). Mudi danced with her Latin teacher in the amateur Latin Group and was in the top 48. The judges were all World Champions or top 6 from previous years, and in the two photos of the stage show the final 6 pairs of dancers in the Professional Latin Group, the world top 6. Well done on getting so far Mudi!
