On Wednesday 6 December at 12.30pm Cardiff Sixth Form College students and staff will be donating a collection of 35 Christmas gifts to Barnardo’s Wales Media and Communications Manager, Margaret O’Reilly, at Starbucks on Newport Road in Cardiff.

Students and staff from across the College have all been involved in the Barnardo’s Christmas Gift Appeal, which provides Christmas presents designed to bring festive cheer to young people in poverty or in need of support, to young carers who spend Christmas looking after a sick or disabled relative or those who have left care recently and are living alone.

Said Cardiff Sixth Form Principal, Gareth Collier: “The role of voluntary work and fundraising in the community is a vital part of the Cardiff Sixth Form Student’s development as an individual. Being able to engage with the community in which they live is a vital part of our students’ understanding not only of themselves, but also of the new culture that they have joined. I am delighted that the students have thrown themselves so vigorously into this initiative and hope that their efforts will bring joy and happiness to those less fortunate than them in Cardiff.”
