Cardiff Bay Campus
Work on our exciting new campus and boarding facilities, scheduled to open in September 2026, is progressing well and marking a major milestone in the College’s continued growth. This state-of-the-art development will provide an exceptional environment for both learning and student life, bringing together cutting-edge academic spaces and outstanding boarding provision in one purpose-built hub. To give a glimpse of what’s to come, we are delighted to share two new videos: one exploring the vision for the future of the College, and another offering a virtual fly-through tour showcasing artist impressions of the completed school and boarding facilities. 2026 Eisteddfod
In the first week of March, students from Cardiff Sixth Form College took part in our annual Eisteddfod — a major and much-anticipated event in the school calendar. This traditional Welsh celebration of music, dance and performance, held around St David’s Day, brings the whole College community together each year.
Throughout the competition, students showcased their talents across a wide range of categories including dance, vocal performances, instrumental music and poetry. The standard this year was truly outstanding, with students demonstrating remarkable confidence, passion and skill.
Competing for those all-important House points, students brought incredible energy and enthusiasm to every performance, making this year’s Eisteddfod a vibrant and memorable celebration of talent and Welsh culture.
TEDx
TEDxCSFC Youth is a highlight of our school calendar. The spirit of intellectual curiosity – so central to what we do here at Cardiff Sixth Form College – is at the core of this event and the audience at the Reardon Smith Lecture Theatre were invited to reflect on the invisible currents which shape how we think, act and decide. Our talented speakers took to the stage to offer their thoughts on topics including political polarisation, mortality, digital currency and navigating faith in a secular society. this was a thought provoking afternoon which certainly met TED’s message of conveying ‘ideas worth spreading’.
Glee Club – Grease
This years Glee Club production of Grease the musical, was a historical throwback to seven years ago when CSFC first performed the hugely popular and well loved production. In the cast of that original performance back then was a sibling of one of our newest Glee Club members, proving that the pull of Glee spans generations!
Five months of hard work and dedication finally paid off as the audience became ‘hopelessly devoted’ to our Danny’s and Sandy’s (the roles were dual casted due to the multitude of talent available to choose from) teamwork, friendship and true Rydell spirit was on full display, and though the performance passed quickly, like ‘Greased Lightning’ the memories will live on forever. A fantastic cast and a fantastic production!
Iceland Field Trip
Our Iceland field trip, which took place during the February enrichment week, was an unforgettable experience that combined adventure with valuable learning beyond the classroom. Students explored the country’s dramatic landscapes, witnessing geography and science in action—from geothermal activity and volcanic features to the Northern Lights and striking black sand beaches. Highlights included visits to Gullfoss, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, where students were amazed by the sheer scale and power of these natural wonders. Throughout the trip, students demonstrated enthusiasm, curiosity and resilience, embracing the busy schedule and cold conditions with great spirit. It was a fantastic opportunity to develop independence, teamwork and confidence, and the memories and learning gained will stay with them for many years to come.
