A Great Year for Cardiff Sixth Form College!

As we wrap up 2024, we are proud to reflect on a year full of remarkable achievements for Cardiff Sixth Form College. Here’s a closer look at the highlights that made this year exceptional:

No. 1 in the A Level League Tables for the 13th Year in a Row

In August, Cardiff Sixth Form College was once again named the UK’s number one school for A Levels—a position we have proudly held for 13 consecutive years. According to The Telegraph league table, our students achieved an incredible 58.7% of grades at A* , 90.7% at A*-A & 97% A*-B grades. These results are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of our students, who continually strive for academic excellence, and our outstanding staff, who provide unwavering guidance and support.
This year’s A Level results included remarkable individual achievements: half of our students earned three or more A* grades, and one-third achieved four or more A* grades. Among our standout performers was Cathy, who earned an astonishing six A*s in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Further Maths, and Chinese. These results underscore our continued commitment to maintaining the highest academic standards.

Outstanding First Results for Cardiff Sixth Form College Cambridge

2024 also marked the first set of A Level results from our new Cambridge campus, which opened its doors in September 2022. Specialising in supporting STEM students to gain entry to some of the world’s leading universities, the inaugural cohort at CSFC Cambridge achieved outstanding results.

Just under half of all grades (47%) were awarded A*, with 25% of students achieving four or more A* grades. Notably, one exceptional student attained a perfect five A* grades. In addition, 44% of the year group earned A* in three or more subjects, and 63% of the student body secured all A*-A grades. Furthermore, 67% achieved four or more A grades at A Level.

These impressive results have opened doors to top universities worldwide for our Cambridge students. A remarkable 75% of the cohort gained admission to QS Top 100 universities, 8% secured Oxbridge places, 92% were accepted into Russell Group universities, and 42% into the prestigious G5 group (Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, Imperial College, and UCL).
