Students attend 30th anniversary of the United Nations Children's Rights Convention

On Wednesday, a group of our Student Ambassadors (Zara Aznam, Hera Tuet, Humaira Fadzil, Arianne Banks, Enyala Banks) attended a prestigious event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the United Nations Children's Rights Convention. Both the First Minister for Wales, Mark Drakeford and the Children's Commissioner for Wales, Sally Holland, gave presentations on the progress of children's rights in Wales over the last 30 years. The students also attended sessions led by representatives from UNICEF, Young Wales and Children in Wales.

The students were selected to attend a Q&A session with Deputy Minister for Health and Social Services, Julie Morgan AM. They asked her a series of challenging questions on topics such as mental health support for young people, youth crime and homelessness, the status of child refugees in Wales and climate change.
