CARDIFF SIXTH FORM COLLEGE

OUR UNIQUE APPROACH

How do you achieve high grades?  What form of education suits highly academic students who are looking to enter top universities?  What do we need to offer to give our students the edge? These are questions we ask every day at Cardiff Sixth Form College.  Like our students, we work hard at our studies.  We analyse our classes and teaching styles, constantly aiming for excellence.  It is always possible to improve – there is a science to teaching.  By evaluating the details of education, large and small, we continually strive to provide the best possible atmosphere for our students to pursue their ambitions.

Every school needs a culture and here at Cardiff Sixth Form College our culture is one of innovation.  Unlike traditional boarding schools which rely on long histories and heritage, here at Cardiff we look forward.  We want to build for the future and lead standards by which all schools should be judged.  Our results, the quality of our university destinations and our award winning pastoral care and careers provision show we are already on the way…

Cardiff encouraged us to do lots of work experience, to join seminars to prepare us for universities. They have so many activities, resources and have been very helpful in terms of my US university application. I loved Cardiff, it was so much fun living and being with your friends. I remember sports day when we wore school colours and supported our friends it was amazing!

Cardiff definitely does encourage you to do the best you can in terms of your education and you are definitely getting your money’s worth because the teachers are so supportive and amazing. There are so many things to do there – nothing is too far from anything else in the city. I had my best friendship group in Cardiff and I now have friends from all the different continents. The people and teachers really made it.

Cardiff Sixth Form College really gave me that independence that really allowed me to push forward and gain traction in my studies. It really did prepare me for university, for example debating really helped my communication skills and I don’t think I would be here without the experience that I had there.

I really found the careers department a particular help; the interview preparation that I received and also the entrance tests assistance was invaluable.

Hi

CARE

Cardiff really helped me develop skills in leadership which I had never done before and I had the opportunity to be in the NASA team, on the debate committee and I was also honoured to be elected as Head Girl which I am very grateful for. I am still in touch with lots of my friends from Cardiff. The staff have been extremely helpful in shaping my career.

They were good at teaching and making subjects interesting and helped me with interview preparation. The careers team has also been phenomenal in terms of choosing which Cambridge college to apply to and how to structure my application. Without both the academic and careers staff I would not be here.

สวัสดี

Cardiff is well known for its academics and university progression.  However what many people don’t realise is that the College also offers a wide range of sport, music, art and drama clubs, a wealth of extra-curricular and enrichment activities, fun House competitions, whole school celebrations and social events.
