The start of a new college year begins with one of our favourite moments: welcoming new students from across the UK and around the world. As new boarding and day students arrive at our Cardiff and Cambridge campuses, we could not be more excited to meet them and to help them settle into life at Cardiff Sixth Form College.
A truly international welcome
Few things capture the spirit of our college quite like the arrival of new students. Over these first days, our campuses fill with fresh faces from every corner of the globe, alongside students from closer to home. That international mix is what makes college life here so special, and it is never more visible than now.
Whatever a student’s background, culture or language, they will be welcomed here. Difference is something we celebrate, and our global character is at the very heart of who we are.
Settling into boarding and day life
Starting somewhere new can bring a mix of excitement and nerves, and that is completely normal. Our team is ready to help every student find their feet, whether they are joining us as a boarder or as a day student.
For our boarders, our boarding houses are safe, comfortable and welcoming, with house staff on hand around the clock. Living alongside students from all over the world gives new arrivals a ready-made community of friends. For our day students, there is the same warm welcome and the same close-knit college family to become part of.
Two campuses, one community
Cardiff Sixth Form College is home to two campuses, in Cardiff and in Cambridge, each offering an inspiring place to study and grow. Wherever a student joins us, they become part of the same ambitious, supportive community, built on expert teaching, small classes and genuine care for every individual.

We know that moving to a new college, and often a new country, takes courage. From visas and travel to settling into a new routine, our team is experienced in guiding students and families through every practical detail. If ever a student needs help, there is always someone to talk to.
We also keep families and agents informed and reassured throughout, because we know that starting college is a journey for the whole family, not just the student.
