Celebrating Student Success: A Remarkable Term of Achievements at CSFC!

Posted: 3rd April 2025

As the term comes to a close, we are thrilled to highlight some incredible accomplishments by our talented students. Their hard work, dedication, and passion for excellence continue to make Cardiff Sixth Form College proud. Here are some of the remarkable achievements from this term:

Year 12 Students Shine in the Joutes Oratoires French Debate Competition

A huge congratulations to our incredible Year 12 students who competed in the finals of the prestigious Joutes Oratoires French Debate Competition in London! They represented our school with passion, eloquence, and determination, making us all immensely proud. A special shoutout to Jolie for winning the ‘Coup de Cœur du Jury’ – the jury’s favourite prize!
Bravo à vous deux! You have demonstrated that language learning goes far beyond the classroom – it’s about confidence, culture, and standing out on the big stage!

Outstanding Results in the Senior Physics Challenge

We are proud to announce that CSFC students have excelled in this year’s Senior Physics Challenge. Our students achieved 20 Bronze Awards, 3 Silver Awards, and a remarkable Gold Award for Haoran. Haoran’s standout performance demonstrates his exceptional ability in tackling advanced physics problems, and these awards reflect the incredible dedication and talent of all our participants.
Join us in celebrating their achievements – a fantastic display of commitment to academic excellence!

Exceptional Success in the Year 13 Physics Olympiad

We are delighted to congratulate Lily and Rex in Year 12 on achieving Gold Awards in the prestigious Year 13 Physics Olympiad from Oxford University. This remarkable accomplishment not only highlights their exceptional scientific knowledge and problem-solving skills, but also underscores their ability to excel at a level normally reserved for students a year above them. Their success is a testament to their hard work, passion for physics, and dedication to pushing their own boundaries—qualities that will undoubtedly propel them to even greater achievements in the future.

Economics Excellence: Royce Reaches the Finals of the Great British Economics Olympiad

Well done to Li (Royce), our talented AS Economics student, who reached the finals of the Great British Economics Olympiad. Out of nearly 1,300 students, Royce was one of just 25 finalists invited to Rochester Independent College to compete for a chance to represent the UK in the International Economic Olympiad.
Royce worked alongside diligent and hard-working teammates to address the question of sustainability challenges in the aviation industry, ultimately securing a well-deserved second place. The experience, which included expert lectures and collaborative presentations, has only fueled Royce’s passion for economics. We can’t wait to see what’s next!
