Huge congratulations to Cardiff Sixth Form College AS student Jane Sonamai who has just made the Wales National Team Development Squad for Debating.
Jane has been enjoying her debating here at CSFC after catching the bug during her GCSE year at her previous school in Thailand. She tried out for Team Wales and was fortunate enough to be selected.
Jane said: “being here at CSFC with Mrs Clements and the A2’s supporting you has been a great experience. I hope that this will spur me on and help me become a better debater in the future. If I get picked I will be in the national team which will feel like a huge accomplishment”.
The English Speaking Union select a Welsh Team to compete at the World Schools Debating Championships, which takes place every year. The team comprises of the best debaters currently studying in Welsh Schools.
Jane studies Economics, Maths, Further Maths and History at Cardiff Sixth Form College and is hoping to study Economics at university. She will next debate at the LSE open on the 30th November.
