CARDIFF STUDENTS TAKE PART IN WORLD’S FIRST YOUNG PERSON’S MEDICAL CONFERENCE

Posted: 24th July 2017

Twenty-seven students from Cardiff Sixth Form College have taken part in the world’s first Young Person’s Medical Conference in London run by the College’s owner, Duke Education Group.

The event included talks on the future of medicine from pre-eminent professionals in the medical field, with application tutorials and taster workshops. Highlights included the much-celebrated ‘Be A Doctor For A Day’ workshops – fully immersive experiences in which students played at being medics in theatrical and challenging scenarios, a medical tribunal and the hands-on operating theatre.

The students were able to talk to top medical consultants and doctors about their professional lives, gain tips on how to apply to medical school and examine real-life clinical cases.
