DAY STUDENTS

Cardiff Sixth Form College isn’t just for boarding students. We also accept students from the Cardiff area – sometimes termed as 'day students'. Day students may enjoy Cardiff Sixth Form College’s first-class teaching without staying in the college’s boarding facilities. Our day students are a vital part of the college community and are just as much a part of the college as our boarding students.

Day students are entitled to breakfast, lunch and dinner at the college canteen at no extra cost. We want students from all backgrounds to mix and learn from one another – in particular local and overseas students. Meal times are a great way to bond, and we encourage all day students to take advantage of this service.

Membership to David Lloyd Leisure sports facilities is sadly only included in our boarding fees. However, we are able to provide a discounted rate to day students. We don’t wish for any student to be left out of extra-curricular activities and we greatly encourage day students to apply for membership.

Application

Day students apply to the college using the same application process as our international students. Entrance to the college will be based primarily upon GCSE results. We require a minimum of 6 A* for entry (9 A* for scholarship students), alongside a single entrance test, GL Assessment (aptitude test) and interview. For more information, please see our Applications page.
