The 27th of January this year marked Holocaust remembrance day. This particular day encourages and invites everyone to reflect on the depths humanity can sink to, but also the ways individuals and communities resisted that darkness to be the light before, during and after genocide.
A group of AS and Alevel French students took part in a live streamed event organised by the Guardian where 92-year-old Colette Marin-Catherine shared her remarkable story. This was a really exciting opportunity to develop further our talented linguists’ knowledge and understanding of this part of history as well as their language skills. Here is what they had to say:
