MR WILLIAMS ACCEPTED AS A MODERATOR FOR WJEC EPQ

CSFC teacher Mr Williams has recently been informed of some fantastic news - he has been accepted as a moderator for WJEC EPQ! For those of you unsure what the Extended Project Qualification entails, it is a 5,000-word academic dissertation that you write over the year, focusing on an evaluative topic of your choice. It is accompanied by a series of forms which evidence your process of writing the EPQ, with a strong focus on self-reflection, achievements and how you have overcome challenges. Demonstrating critical thinking skills are increasingly valued by universities and the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) is one very real way in which students can do this.

Mr Williams commented on his achievement: "I have taught projects for over four years at Cardiff Sixth Form College, and know how much effort and work it takes for students to do well in EPQ. Last year, a student I taught won a certificate from CIE for an outstanding Independent Research Report, and the students I have taught have worked at a consistently high standard throughout my time there. We are very excited to teach EPQ at the College, and I am keen to take this a stage further, moving forwards, by becoming a moderator. This will enable me to know the course inside out! It has been a pleasure seeing the students grow and expand academically, even flourish, through pursuing an EPQ and I am enthusiastic to become more involved in the process."
