This year we were honoured to have Mr. Peter Griffiths from the Royal Society of Chemistry and Mr. Jonathan Owens, Chemistry Subject Officer from the Welsh Joint Education Committee to present awards to Grant Sugiura who achieved the highest scores in the country for Chemistry. Grant achieved a smashing total off 599/600 in this subject. Two other students obtained incredible feat and their achievements were recognised by the Examination Board. Sui Yan Cathy Lam’s achieved 600/600 in A Level Mathematics along with 4 others from other centres whilst Alexander Craddock ranked 15th with a score of 577/600 in A Level Further Mathematics. College Awards given out on the night: Best Student Award (based on academic performance): A2: Anne Barrett AS: Shirley Jayasekara and Sui Yan Cathy Lam GCSE: Harry Lee Victory Award (based on both academic and extra curricula activities): Shirley Jayasekara Leadership Award: Mrudula Podila, Philip Roberts-Burt and Moustafa Sabry Honour Award (based on dedication to achieving his/her ambitions): Eric Cheong and Zartash Javaid ‘Starbust’ Award (most improved student of the year) AS: Morgan Jones GCSE: Nut Panyasuksri ‘Comet Award’ (Best Newcomers)- AS: Yingcong Liu and Anna- Marie Krawiecka GCSE: So Yin Ho and Karima Gadalla Subject Awards: English and Humanities: Rhian Harding Maths and Science: Shirley Jayasekara and Sui Yan Cathy Lam Debate Championship Award: Shirley Jayasekara, Moustafa Sabry, Tamara Lewis and Mpho Molosiwa Goodwill Ambassador Programme Best Ambassador: Katrina Kwong, Moustafa Sabry and Zartash Javaid. |
