Another win for Top Sixth Form College Cardiff Sixth Form College wins two prestigious awards Cardiff Sixth Form College has beaten off stiff competition from dozens of UK institutions, for the second consecutive year, to become the Top Sixth Form College nationwide, and has also become the Top Co-educational Boarding School in the UK. The award was presented by Les Webb and Tom Cassidy of The Education Advisers, an independent education consultancy, who offer free and impartial educational advice to parents, and publish the country’s most independent and comprehensive league tables of private education establishments. Cardiff Sixth Form College has won these awards thanks to its outstanding 2011 A level results, in which it achieved 98% A* - B grades; 84% of which were A* - A grades. Established in 2004, Cardiff Sixth Form College has grown from having only a handful of students to almost 150 students from all over the world. In acknowledging the college’s growth and achievements over the last few years, Les Webb said “From humble beginnings, Cardiff [Sixth Form College] is becoming one of the biggest sixth form colleges in the UK. It truly is a reflection to the credit of the teachers and students of this college that it has come top in both [these awards].” The college’s Executive Director, Yasmin Sarwar, added “It’s been a tough journey, and we couldn’t have done this without your support; the staff and the students. You are the college. It’s not the building, it’s not the furniture. Thank you for all your hard work. This is an achievement for all of us.” She also paid tribute to the students directly: “Thank you for your support, your loyalty, and the trust you put in us. I know that we will win this again next year.”
