Application & Entry Requirements
Students who are resident overseas should apply to the college using the formal Application Form. This form can be obtained from the website or a paper copy is available upon request. The form needs to be completed and signed, with the required photographs and Registration Fee attached.
When we receive the form we will look at all aspects of the application and each will be considered on an individual basis. We will look at the academic background as we need to be sure that all students will benefit from our individual style of teaching and learning.
We will also need to be confident that your proficiency in English Language is sufficient for you to study at A level standard through the medium of English. Most applicants are able to offer either a pass in the IGCSE English course or have been successful in one of the acceptable alternatives such as TOEFL or IELTS. Relevant details should be included on your Application Form.
Interviews
All students applying for a place at CSFC are required to attend for
an interview. In the case of overseas students, we are prepared to
conduct a telephone interview due to the time and expense of long
distance travel. The interview will be a two-way process, where the
applicant will have the opportunity of finding out more about the
college and Cardiff.
Teaching
CSFC prides itself on the small numbers in its A Level classes. This
means that all students have the benefit of more individual tuition
and more contact time with the teachers. We provide at least 6-7
hours of structured teaching for specialist A Level subjects per week
plus private study time and individual tutoring. |
University/Course guidance
We are aware that the process of applying for university entrance in the UK can seem very complicated and probably very different! Our team are very experienced in providing the guidance and support that all students need at this important stage of their education. We will provide individual and personalised support at each stage of the application process, from filling out the UCAS form to deciding which university to apply to. Our Vice Principal has personal experience of a university Admissions Department and will advise and guide students through the whole process. From the first week
of the term, we will assist students in developing a personalised portfolio to give them an added advantage when making application to universities.
