The Oxbridge Society

The Oxbridge Society is for students who are applying to Cambridge or Oxford . This society is also sub-divided into 4 clubs; we encourage the participation of non-Oxbridge students in accordance of their prospective careers.

The 4 clubs are:-

Centre Of Excellence pre-Health Club: - Appeals to students embarking on Health Related Courses such as Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary, Pharmacy, etc

Centre Of Excellence pre-Law Club: - For prospective the law students

Centre Of Excellence Young Engineers Club: - For the aspiring engineers

Centre Of Excellence Account Club: - For aspiring accountants

These clubs ensures that each student will receive maximum exposure to the highest level of work experience to get the best possible chance of admission into university.

Other Clubs, Events And Programmes

All students can take part in extra-curricular activities such as:-

• Debate Club- Chaired by a Regional Champion
• College Fundraising Team
• College Magazine- Led by Editorial Student Board
• Young Enterprise
• Young Engineers Society
• Goodwill Ambassador Programme- Work Experience and Voluntary Work abroad
• First Aid Course with British Red Cross
• Science and Technology Society
• Student Forum - This incorporates Drug Awareness Talks, Buddying Programmes, Oral Hygiene Talks and Sight Awareness among students in various primary schools in Cardiff . The Student Forum will also organise various talks from universities regarding career paths and university admissions to students of the college.
• Duke of Edinburgh Award
• Fashion, Cultural and Unity Events
• Mock Interviews - To equip students with the skills necessary to succeed at university interviews.

Any sporting activities (Cricket, swimming, badminton, squash and tennis) or musical activities can also be arranged for you.

The Centre of Excellence has a well resourced Computer Suite and Library which may be easily accessed by all students; a cozy common room equipped with beanbags allows students to unwind or indulge themselves in a game of pool to escape the pressures of academic life. If a student has any special needs including physical disabilities we have the facilities to cater for every individual. The Centre of Excellence also holds annual Award Ceremonies, a Summer Ball and Yearly Christmas Event. Parents and Guardians will receive student reports every 6 weeks and Parents/Teacher meetings are held twice a term.
